چکیده
Abstract Sandstone channels are one of the best stratigraphic traps for hydrocarbon accumulation, and their depositional composition make them difficult to detect on ordinary seismic data, especially in structurally affected onshore areas like Western Desert Egypt. The Egypt has many hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs various compositions carbonates sandstones with high production rates, thus is recognized as a hot spot oil gas exploration. One important Lower Cretaceous “the Aptian sand” produced around 285 MBBLS cumulative 22° API still produces 102 BOPD. Pore throat size characterization of carbonate reservoirs by integrating core data, well logs and seismic attributes
Investigation of pore system properties of carbonate reservoirs has an important role in evaluating the reservoir quality and delineating high production intervals. The current study proposes a three-step approach for pore throat size characterization of these reservoirs, by integrating core data, well logs and 3D seismic volume. In this respect, first the pore throats size was calculated using...
متن کاملLocal seismic attributes a
Local seismic attributes measure seismic signal characteristics not instantaneously at each signal point and not globally across a data window but locally in the neighborhood of each point. I define local attributes with the help of regularized inversion and demonstrate their usefulness for measuring local frequencies of seismic signals and local similarity between different datasets. I use sha...
متن کاملTexture attributes for detecting salt bodies in seismic data
Texture-based methods have proven to be useful in the detection of salt bodies in seismic data. In this abstract, we present three computationally inexpensive texture attributes that strongly differentiate salt bodies from other geological formations. The proposed method combines the three texture attributes along with region boundary smoothing for delineating salt boundaries. Our first propose...
متن کاملefficiency of coherency attributes in seismic data interpretation
seismic coherency is a measure of lateral changes in acoustic impedance that are caused by variations in structure, stratigraphy, lithology, porosity, and fluid content. seismic coherency is a geometrical attribute that establishes temporal and lateral relationships with other attributes. seismic coherency can be defined by coherency attributes. when coherency attributes are applied to seismic ...
